IEC 62439-3

IEC 62439-3 is an international standard that defines two redundancy protocols for Ethernet networks—PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol) and HSR (High-availability Seamless Redundancy). Both protocols ensure seamless communication with zero recovery time in the event of a network failure. PRP connects devices to two independent networks for redundancy, while HSR connects two-port (or multi-port) devices in a ring or mesh, enabling uninterrupted data flow.
