Metro-Link Express

Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, abbreviated MEGA, or Ahmedabad Metro is an under construction mass-transit rail system for the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India.


The planning and construction of the Ahmedabad Metro is being overseen by the City and Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board. The system is planned to consist of two rail corridors, East-West Corridor with total length 21.16 KM and North-South Corridor with total length 18.87 KM covering a total distance of 40.03 kilometres. The special purpose vehicle company was established in February 2010 and the Phase–1 of the project was approved in October 2014. The metro's phase-1 is expected to be completed by 2020. The metro's technological infrastructure and rolling stock are being supplied by South Korean rolling stock manufacturer, M/S Hyundai Rotem.

There are a total of 32 stations in two corridors, East-West Corridor has total 17 stations out of which 13 is elevated while 04 is underground stations, similarly North-South Corridor has total 15 stations and all are elevated with 02 Depot, OCC, BCC and 1 interchange station at “Old High Court Interchange”. The objective of the provision of a Master Clock Systems for Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-1, India is to provide exact and reliable time information throughout the metro infrastructure in the form of NTP synchronized analogue and digital clocks and time information for the electronic system. Two different control rooms working in redundancy will be equipped with a Masterclock DTS4160.grandmaster to generate the time and date information and Masterclock devices provide 2.048 MHz (E1) signal for synchronizing the SDH Network. The Small, Large Offices and Depot Lobby of the railway stations will be equipped with single sided Flex series analogue clocks of 30, 50 & 60 cm dial diameter. The Platform Centre and Head, Tail End will be equipped with Digital outdoor clocks with 190 mm character size. Digital indoor clocks with hour, minute and hour, minute & seconds display will be installed in various Rooms/halls and Station Concourse Area.


A two days FAT, starting 26th November 2018, was conducted in the presence of delegate Mr. Hemant Kothari (Deputy Project Manager - L&T Constructions) from MEGA Gujarat project, who inspected the material and production process in our factory at Switzerland and also witnessed the “Factory Acceptance Test”.


Things found satisfactory in line with the project requirement and FAT was successfully completed on 27th’ November 2018.
